Northern District

Within the Northern District there are sixteen towers.

There are three towers in Belfast all within easy access of the city. St Thomas’ in Eglantine Avenue is in the university area. St Mark’s on the Holywood Road and St. Donard’s on the junction of the Bloomfield and Beersbridge Roads are both in east Belfast and convenient to George Best City Airport.

Moving to the north-west of the Province St Columb’s Cathedral is in the City of Londonderry and a few miles away in County Londonderry is St Patrick’s, Coleraine.

Staying in the west and into County Fermanagh, we have St Macartin’s Cathedral in the centre of Enniskillen.

Moving down to County Antrim we have St Patrick’s, Ballymena and in Carrickfergus the Parish Church of St Nicholas.

County Armagh has one tower, The Church of Christ the Redeemer in Lurgan, more popularly known as Shankill Parish, Lurgan.

County Down has seven towers – SS Philip and James, Holywood; St Comgall’s, Bangor; St Saviour’s. Greyabbey; Holy Trinity, Drumbo; St Malachy, Hillsborough; St John’s Newcastle and St Bronach (Kilbroney) Rostrevor.

Arrangements to visit each can be made directly through the tower secretaries whose details will be on the relevant tower page.
