Inscriptions

The Doneraile bells do not have inscriptions on them.

There is an older Doneraile bell which now stands in the porch on the church which does have an inscription. The original text is in Latin, but is translated to read:

The Honourable William St Leger, Baronet, President of the North and South Munster (and) Gertrude de Viries and his wife caused me to be made in the year 1636, and Arthur St Leger, their Grandson repaired me, having broken and did the work in May in the year 1700.
